Deane Simpson will present the ‘Atlas of the Copenhagens’, a project developed with students at the Royal Danish Academy School of Architecture, which looks critically at the city as a revered object of sustainability discourse (a collaboration with the Dutch architect and graphic designer Joost Grootens).
Deane Simpson is an architect and urbanist teaching at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture, Copenhagen; and at BAS, Bergen where he is a professor. He was formerly a unit master at the AA, London; a faculty member at the ETH Zürich; and an associate partner at Diller + Scofidio, New York. He received his education from Columbia University, New York; and from the ETH Zürich where his doctorate addressed contemporary urban mutations resulting from demographic change. He publishes and lectures internationally.
